I know Pastor Clendennen is with the Lord but it aches my heart that such a wonderful representation of Jesus Christ is gone.
He will be greatly and deeply missed, but the work the Lord started in his life, through the School of Christ will live on
until it is no longer needed. We are praying for the Clendennen family, and wish to extend our deepest, heartfelt sympathies...we
grieve with you, though we take comfort in knowing he is finally with the Lord he loved so much.
Dec 27, 2009 update..more thoughts on Pastor Clendennen's death..
He preached the cross, he lived the life
of Another, and when he got sick, he didn't run to flesh for medicine or help, he went to God, put his life in God's hands,
which basically was saying live or die, I'm in Your hands. I know he wanted to stay with his wife, cos he loves her so, but
he again sacrificed what he wanted, trusting in the purpose of the Lord. Not my will but Thine, Oh Lord. He wanted
to be with God, too. He didn't resist the sickness, although he did pray, and ask others to pray. He left it to God. To the
very end, he lived the cross. He trusted God to take care of him, to take care of Sis Clendennen, and the family, if and when
He took Bro Clendennen. I've meditated and thought much on these things these past two weeks. I wasn't there, am not personally
acquainted with the family, though I was greatly honored to meet Pastor Clendennen twice, but I have studied the
videos he released, the brief messages released in October and November on Youtube. I looked in his eyes, recognized he was
in physical pain, and yet, I saw that trust, that uncompromising faith. His zeal for the Lord, the Gospel, the church and
for souls. I heard the groan in his voice for the church to bow low in recognition of her great need of repentance before
this Holy and Awesome God we are supposed to be serving. I heard the heart of this soldier of the cross, I know he
interceded as Moses did, for this people, this wayward church, Father forgive them, help them understand what they are
doing. May they repent so You can revive them and be glorified on display before this terribly deceived generation.
I have thought much on these things.
The man lived what he preached. Sounds like Christ to me. Father, forgive them, they know not what they do. I've
come to the conclusion that God HAS been glorified
in the death of His precious saint. Strangely enough, at a time my faith was being sifted, and shaken, and I was battling
discouragement, as I thought on these things, I was astounded at the ministry of the Holy Spirit to me, concerning
these things, how it actually encouraged my heart and my faith. God didn't raise Pastor Clendennen up again in the flesh.
But the School of Christ will continue on. To Sister Clendennen, and the family, may God bless you, I know you are a true
woman of God. He is your Husband now and you know He will not ever fail or forsake you or the family. Pastor Clendennen was
willing to lay his life down for the Lord and I pray, Lord, make us willing and able to do the same.
Dec. 14, 2009
I'd just like to encourage everyone today and share something God has comforted my heart with this day. I opened my Bible
this morning and I went to Psalm 46, longing for comfort and consolation. I carefully read the whole chapter. This verse
stood out to me:
Psa 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted
among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Sit still before the Lord, quiet your
mind, your thoughts, ignore your feelings, and anything else bothering you. Be quiet, be still and understand He is God, He
knows it all, He has it all under control, and no matter how dark things look, how much darker things will get, He WILL BE
EXALTED. And that's all that really matters-for He alone is the answer to every problem and every need.
As
I read that verse, a cry rose up inside me, Oh, Lord, be exalted in me, above all that I am or that is in me that is not
like You. Be exalted above and in me, Lord.
I'd never looked at that verse in that
manner before. But I know, He meant what He said, and He will be exalted, not only among the heathen, but in and above us,
His people. Our greatest need is to tarry in His presence, until we are infused with His life, which is the light of men.
To come daily before Him, and dive into His Word, seeking the leadership of our Teacher, the Holy Spirit and eat His
Word. It's time to seek the Lord, church, like we never have before.
The Word "Prophecy" in the NT Greek (G4394)
means a discourse emanating from divine inspiration (the Mind of God which the Holy Spirit alone knows) and declaring
the purposes of God, whether by reproving and admonishing the wicked, or comforting the afflicted, or revealing things hidden;
especially by foretelling future events. This is only done by the ONE who knows future events-the Holy Spirit of God who will
use a crucified, sanctified vessel who lives only for the honor and pleasure of God, to speak to His church. (Joh 16:13) I
believe this is why the attack has come on Pastor Clendennen. And God will be glorified and honored somehow in this. HE is
our victory.
1Co 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1Jn 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh
the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
2Co 2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and
maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
Rev 17:14 These shall
make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with
him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
Php 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work
in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Pastor Clendennen was diagnosed Oct 2, 2009 with cancer in his lymph nodes, lungs, liver, and colon. I called his office
to verify this, and this video has been posted where he addressed his home church, Oct 4, 2009 regarding his diagnosis. Prayer
is being made for this beloved pastor, and we are believing God is going to get much glory out of this, and we are believing
God will do it again. He has healed Pastor Clendennen several times before of serious, life threatening illnesses. He is able
to do much more than we could ever imagine to even ask. We are asking folks to pray for him, his precious wife, Sister Janice,
and their children. We are believing for a miracle. If God is through with Pastor Clendennen, He would not be inspiring so
many to pray for Pastor Clendennen. Your prayers, and your fasting for this need is appreciated. Please continue to
pray for the School of Christ, as well that God would grant it free course to spread the message of the Gospel to those who
have not heard.
